Callaway Big Bertha Fusion Driver

Callaway Golf has announced that it's ready to let the general golfing public start swinging the new Big Bertha Fusion FT-3 driver.Callaway Big Bertha Fusion Driver The Fusion FT-3, which has been in use by members of Callaway's Tour staff since July 4, 2005. Among those pros using it on Tour have been Phil Mickelson and Annika Sorenstam.

The Fusion technology, used in other Callaway clubs (including the original Big Bertha Fusion driver, natch), frees up 44 grams of clubhead weight - nearly a quarter of the clubhead's full weight - to be strategically repositioned.

The repositioning of that "bonus" weight allows Callaway to cater the FT-3 to the needs of various golfers. For example, one version of the Big Bertha Fusion FT-3 has the weight positioned so as to impart fade spin to the ball, helping to reduce hooks.

There are actually two models of the driver: the FT-3 and FT-3 Tour. Different loft and shaft availability mark the two models, but also the FT-3 Tour features a slightly more open clubface. In both cases, the clubhead is 460cc in size.
