TaylorMade has made a science of wedge design and the result is our innovative rac Technology. Racm characterized by the two distinctive “Feel Pockets” in the back of clubhead, channels impact energy away from the impact aream and provides a means for measuring and tuning feel. Those two things combined have allowed us to enhance the kind of solid, positive feel at impact that folgers desire. TaylorMade engineers also zeroed in on the three criticial characteristics of a wedge shot: ball speed, launch angle and spin rate. Though extensive tour-testing they learned that the average, cleanly struck wedge shot spins at about 10,00 rpm, but as much as 3,00 rpm can be lost from shot to shot,creating serioius inconsistencies in distance control. Two virtually identical swings with the same sand wedge can produce one shot that flies 87 yeards and one shot that flies 105 yards.
